Semi-Pro Football to Play in Reedsburg

The second game will be played on August 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM.   The games are able to be played in Reedsburg due to the efforts of the Reedsburg Youth Football Program, Reedsburg Area School District Staff and the Kilbourn City Hawks officials working in conjunction to put everything together in only a couple of weeks.

The Hawks are part of the Mid-States Football league.  In reading about the Hawks on their home website, www.kilbourncityhawks.com, you will see their team motto:

“PRIDE, DIGNITY, RESPECT”

In 2009 (their inaugural season), the team accomplished a feat that no other team in the history of the Mid-States Football league accomplished.  They were awarded the “Sportsman of the Year Award” as a team.  The following excerpt was taken from the team website:  Owners and players of the teams the Hawks played said there wasn’t a more deserving team other than the Hawks.  One player even commented on how “they tried to provoke the Hawks and they took no part of it, they just wanted to play the game”.  This sounds like a team you would not mind following.
